Functie: WebLogic Engineer

Customer is responsible for daily operations of a new application hosting platform (platform-as-a-service) at one of their customers. This PAAS service consists of a new WebLogic platform hosting approximately 20 applications. The platform supports multiple business critical and engineering applications, which are under constant development by the application groups. It serves as a standardized infrastructure building block for Java applications. The environment is new and this year all business applications will be migrated to this environment.

Competence
The candidate is an experienced infrastructure engineer with focus on OS management. Further requirements:
? HBO+ or Academic level
? Minimal 3-5 years of relevant work experience within an enterprise environment
? Advanced knowledge of RHEL 6 and VMWare 5.5 or higher
? Experience with managing application specific infrastructure stacks (e.g. Java, webserver, middleware)
? Knowledge of WebLogic and/or Oracle Enterprise Manager
? Affiliation with DevOps method of working
? Strong verbal and written communication skills (Dutch, English)

The candidate has a hands-on mindset, a strong customer- and problem solving orientation, shows fast results, and has demonstrated good communication skills, especially in an international IT organization.

Responsibilities
The candidate is part of the Itility enterprise-PAAS team, which is responsible for managing the Oracle WebLogic platform. Activities include creating new domains based on the current design, maintaining the WebLogic infrastructure, optimizing the environment by automation and taking part in third line standby services (every 3rd week).

Interfaces
The WebLogic engineer will work in the enterprise-PAAS team at the customer and reports to the Itility service owner. The candidate works directly with the application departments, architects and application designers.

Period: 3 months initially
